For Fire & Life Safety Technicians

You use the software. You should get a say in it.

Inspection software gets picked in a conference room and used on a roof at six in the morning. FireTech Roundtable is a free community where the techs who carry these apps rate them, review them, and talk straight about what works in the field and what doesn't. So the people buying the software finally hear from the people using it.

Free, always · Post under your name or a handle · Your info never goes to a software company

Founding Members

The people who buy the software aren't the people who use it.

Bought in a conference room.

The demo looked great on a 27-inch monitor. Nobody asked how it works with gloves on, in a mechanical room with no signal.

Built for the office.

Plenty of apps are great at invoicing. Then you count the taps it takes to pass one extinguisher.

Feedback goes nowhere.

You've told your manager. Your manager told the rep. The rep said it's on the roadmap. It's been on the roadmap for three years.

How It Works

Three steps. No sales pitch.

Pull up a seat.

Join free in about two minutes. Tell us what you inspect and which app you're stuck with. Use your name, your initials, or a handle.

Tell it straight.

When a review round opens, you rate the app you actually use on the things that matter in the field. Not features on a brochure. How it holds up on a Tuesday.

Get heard.

We publish the combined results for every app, and share them with owners, managers, and the software companies themselves. Your name stays off it unless you want it on.

Not Live Yet The first review round opens once the founding table is full. Join now and you're in it.

The Field Scorecard

Six things we'll ask about. None of them are on the brochure.

  1. Works With No Signal

Basements, mechanical rooms, parking decks. Can you finish the job and sync later without losing anything?

  2. Taps Per Device

How long does it take to pass one extinguisher, one head, one device? Fast enough to keep up with you?

  3. Forms That Match the Code

Do the forms follow the NFPA standard you actually inspect to, or do you fight them to get there?

  4. Photos & Deficiencies

Can you snap a photo, write up the deficiency, and keep moving in under a minute?

  5. The Hand-Off to the Office

When you hit submit, does the office get what they need, or do they call you back?

  6. Training & Support

Could a new tech learn it in a day? When it breaks, does anybody answer?

Got a category we missed? There's a box for it when you join.

The Ground Rules

Same rules for every app. No exceptions.

Techs have the seat.

Ratings come from people who use the app in the field. Owners and office staff vote in one award of their own, and their ratings never mix with the field's.

No one buys a better score.

Software companies can't pay for placement, sponsor a rating, or get a review taken down. Not one cent changes what gets published.

Every app plays by the same rules.

Including InspectSync, which coordinates the Roundtable. Same questions, same scoring, same publishing rules.

Your name stays yours.

We never hand your contact info to a software company, an employer, or anyone else. You choose how you show up.

Every trade in the building has a seat.

Two-truck shops and national service companies. Apprentices and NICET IVs. If you inspect, test, or service fire and life safety systems, you belong here.

Who runs the Roundtable?

Technicians who are out in the field every day, coordinated by InspectSync, LLC. Yes, InspectSync makes inspection software. That's exactly why the ground rules exist, why InspectSync gets scored the same as everybody else, and why your contact info never reaches its sales team or anyone else's. If the Roundtable ever stops being fair, it stops being worth anything. To us included.

How we keep it fair

Straight answers.

Is it really free?

Yes. No fee to join, no fee to post, no upsell. Techs never pay to be heard.

Do I have to use my real name?

No. Pick your full name, your initials, or a handle. We need a real email so we know you're a real person, but it never shows up on the site.

Will my boss see what I wrote?

Not from us. We don't share your info with employers. If you use a handle, keep identifying details out of your comments, too. In a small market, specifics can give you away.

Can owners and office staff join?

Yes. They see results like everyone else and vote in one award, Best Value for the Business. Every other rating comes from the field.

Which apps can I review?

Any inspection app you use for work. If your company runs on paper or spreadsheets, we want to hear that, too.

Do software companies pay to be here?

No company pays for placement or scores. The Roundtable is run by technicians and coordinated by InspectSync, LLC, and the Charter spells out how that's kept from tipping the table.

When do reviews open?

The first review round opens once the founding table is full. Founding members get the first invite.

Are there awards?

Yes. The Roundtable Awards come straight from member ratings: Best New Inspection Platform, Best Value, and Best Value for the Business. Every result is published in full on the Awards page.

What do you do with my info?

We use it to run the Roundtable and to email you about it. That's it. The Privacy notice has the details in plain English.

There's a seat with your name on it.

Two minutes. Free. And the next time someone picks software for a fire protection company, the field gets a vote.
