The Charter

How the Roundtable Works

Read it once. We'll hold ourselves to it every time.

Our mission

Give fire protection technicians a real voice in the software they're required to use, and put that voice in front of the people who choose it.

The Charter

  1. Art. 01

    The field has the vote.

Ratings and reviews come from people who inspect, test, or service fire and life safety systems. Owners, managers, and office staff are welcome as listeners. They rate in one place only: the Best Value for the Business award, which asks whether an app is worth what the company pays. Their ratings never mix with the field's.

  2. Art. 02

    One tech, one voice.

One membership per person, tied to a verified email. Duplicate or fake accounts are removed.

  3. Art. 03

    Same rules for every app.

Every platform gets the same questions, the same scoring method, and the same publishing rules. No exceptions.

  4. Art. 04

    Scores aren't for sale.

No software company, distributor, or employer can pay for placement, sponsor a score, or buy a review's removal.

  5. Art. 05

    We don't bury bad news.

Reviews aren't removed or edited for being negative. We remove only what any fair forum would: personal information, threats, harassment, spam, and posts from people who don't use the app. The same moderation rules apply to every app.

  6. Art. 06

    Your identity is yours.

You choose to show your full name, your initials, or a handle. Your contact info is never shared with a software company, an employer, or any third party, and it is never used to sell you anything.

  7. Art. 07

    No paid opinions.

We don't pay or reward anyone for a positive or negative review. If we ever run a giveaway, it won't depend on what you say or how you rate.

  8. Art. 08

    Results are for everyone.

Combined results are published openly on this site, for every app that gets enough reviews to be meaningful.

Who runs the Roundtable

FireTech Roundtable is run by technicians who are out in the field every day and coordinated by InspectSync, LLC. InspectSync makes inspection software, which means it's one of the apps reviewed here.

We built the Roundtable because the industry needs an honest read on what works in the field, and we'd rather earn a score than buy one. Here's how we keep the table level:

  • Every app, including InspectSync, is scored on the same questions, with the same method, and published under the same rules.
  • Member contact information stays in the Roundtable's own database. It is not shared with InspectSync's sales or marketing team, or any other software company's, and it is not used to market software to you.
  • When InspectSync shows up in published results, the results page says that InspectSync coordinates the Roundtable, right next to the score.

If you think we've broken any part of this Charter, email hello@firetechroundtable.com. We'll answer you directly.

A note from Joey Cutchins – Co-Founder of InspectSync

We want your business because of the experiences you have working with our team, our product, and because of how we listened to you – not because we over marketed to your boss. Period.
